And just like that, I'm back. And you didn't even know I was gone, did you? I escaped to Phoenix for 63 hours or so to toast in the sun. It was life-affirming just to feel that warm air on the skin, to sit there of an evening and feel it rustle past my bare arms.

But the real treat were the botanic gardens—which you should always go see when visiting any place, cause it gives you such a great sense of where the hell you are, physically speaking. So much color and strange desert beauty in the Phoenix gardens. I wish't I could grow it all in my yard back in Portland, but unfortunately there's not enough sunshine in all of Oregon right now for a fifteen-foot Siguaro cactus like the one above.
